Instruction Sheet For P/N 200-73001:

Bolt-On Neon SOHC & DOHC
Crank Trigger Wheel & Pulley Package

The Neon Trigger Wheel and Pulley Package is intended for the following applications:

''95-'99 2.0 liter DOHC Neon
'95-'99 2.0 liter SOHC Neon

Congratulations on your purchase of the Electromotive Neon Trigger Wheel and Pulley Package! We went to great lengths to ensure that installation of this package would be completely straightforward and headache free. Complete installation time should be under one hour for the experienced mechanic, and under three hours for the novice.

Kit Contents:
1.) Electromotive 60 (-2) tooth trigger wheel for Neon (PN: 220-73001)
2.) Electromotive magnetic sensor bracket and mounting base for Neon (p/n: 210-72416)
3.) ¼-20 socket head cap screw (Q'ty: 2)
4.) M8-1.25 x 35mm cap screw (Q'ty: 3)
5.) 10-32 set screw
6.) M10-1.00 x 50mm hex head bolt (Q'ty: 2)

Necessary Tools/Parts:
Unorthodox Racing Neon Underdrive Pulley Set PN: 0201101
Alternator Belt - Gates PN: K040320
Power Steering Belt (w/ AC) - Gates PN: 7460
Power Steering Belt (w/o AC) - Gates PN: 7380

Directions:
1.) Loosen alternator bolts and remove alternator belt.
2.) If running A/C and power steering, remove those belts as well.
3.) Unbolt and remove crankshaft pulley from crankshaft.
4.) Bolt the magnetic sensor base and holder onto the engine bracketry as shown in the attached picture. You may need 10-15mm longer bolts.
5.) Insert the magnetic sensor into the holder, but do not tighten the set screw.
6.) Without pressing the pulley hub onto the crankshaft, orient the wheel as follows: With the engine at TDC with the #1 cylinder, the trailing edge of the 11th tooth of the trigger wheel (after the gap) should be aligned with the centerline of the magnetic sensor. See the attached picture for clarification.
7.) Test fit the alignment of the trigger wheel with the magnetic sensor. Failure to align the trigger wheel properly will cause the timing values in the computer to be shifted. For example, if the sensor is aligned with the trailing edge of the 13th tooth, the timing will have a "mechanical" advance of 6 degrees, whereas if the sensor is aligned with the trailing edge of the 11th tooth, it will have a mechanical retard of 6 degrees (each tooth is 6 degrees apart).
8.) Once the alignment is established, mark the crankshaft and pulley for re-installation. Remove the bolts holding the trigger wheel and pulley to the hub.
9.) Install the hub onto the crankshaft. It may be necessary to heat the pulley. Use the stock bolt to secure the hub to the crankshaft.
10.) Bolt the pulley and trigger wheel onto the hub using the included M8x1.25 bolts.
11.) Using a feeler gauge, adjust the gap between the magnetic sensor and trigger wheel so that it is approximately 0.060". Tighten the set screw on the magnetic sensor bracket, ensuring that the alignment on the 11th tooth is still maintained.
12.) Install the new pulleys in the reverse order of removal.

Following successful installation of the Neon Trigger Wheel and Pulley Package, you will have an ultra-high resolution crank sensor signal going into the Electromotive computer on your vehicle. Should you need any technical support in your installation, please feel free to contact us.
